Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey shares his thoughts on the Indiana State Republican Party Convention held this past weekend in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Of course, the results favored the Indiana GOP Establishment!

From there, Bilbrey turns to the issues facing the City of Muncie's Tuhey Pool. On Thursday, June 18, 2026, the City of Muncie praised employees for their work around the pool and noted that the Tuhey Pool season was going wonderfully. But then came Saturday, June 20, 2026, just two days later. The pool closed early due to insufficient staffing, and now The Political Spotlight is aware of even worse issues facing Tuhey Pool.

Lastly, Bilbrey discusses the upcoming deadline for the first part of Resolution 8-26, which concerns the City of Muncie's Controller's Office and the City Council.

Bilbrey explains how this warning applies today just as much as it did in 100 AD. This episode explores topics at the local, state, and national levels.

First, Bilbrey reviews what occurred at the Delaware County Commissioners Meeting on Monday, June 15, 2026. The main points of interest for Bilbrey were John Coutinho's employment as the Director of Delaware County's Emergency Management Agency and the Commissioners' views on the county's credit cards and employees' compliance with the credit card rules.

Then, Bilbrey turns to the City of Muncie's Parks Board Meeting from earlier today, June 16, 2026. Bilbrey was specifically waiting to see the current "Acting" Mayor George-Jeffrey Howe, the recently appointed "Deputy" Mayor, and the still-acting Director of the Muncie Redevelopment Commission appear at the meeting to address the Parks Board about Tuhey Pool (which is part of his new duties, as outlined in his newest contract, signed on May 21, 2026). But... he didn't appear.

WHY?

Bilbrey shares his thoughts about all that!

Before moving on from Muncie, Bilbrey shares a few other follow-ups on current issues in the city.

Next, Bilbrey reviews the recently launched statewide tour by Indiana State Representative J.D. Prescott (R-Union City). Prescott has been traveling across the state to promote his "Property Tax Repeal and Replacement Plan," outlined in House Bill 1288.

Bilbrey has A LOT to say about what Prescott is doing, how he is doing it, and WHY he is doing it. (Spoiler: Bilbrey doesn't think Prescott is doing it for the benefit of the citizens.)

Bilbrey then discusses the upcoming Indiana Republican Party convention (Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, 2026). Delegates will decide who advances as the party's candidate for Indiana's Secretary of State.

Will it be embattled incumbent Diego Morales, who has been having some pretty major meltdowns at public events lately?

Or will it be the establishment's new wonder boy, Max Engling... or the current Knox County Clerk and county GOP chairman, David Shelton... or the bizarre businesswoman and former gubernatorial candidate, Jamie Reitenour?

Approximately 1,800 Republican delegates elected in the May 2026 primary will decide, and Bilbrey is sure it will be a WILD RIDE! Time will tell!

Bilbrey and Callahan discuss the events surrounding a hearing held earlier today (Sunday, June 7, 2026) by the Indiana Republican Party's 5th District Kangaroo Court.

Apparently, it wasn't enough that they made Callahan a "Republican in Bad Standing" back in February... they wanted her to be a "Republican in EVEN BADDER Standing!"

They convened the clowns: Chairman Darren Reese, Vice Chairwoman Kelli Heuer, Treasurer Mario Massillamany, and Secretary Jessica Piper. They stacked the deck and played the game their way!

But what they never seem to understand is that there are only two outcomes:

They could do the right thing! Which is all anyone wants! It's what they should be doing! And if they do right, we all win!

They can do what they usually do, which is the wrong thing... and we win in the end!

Bilbrey and Callahan call out the "CLOWN SHOW" that is the Indiana Republican Party, the 5th District GOP Committee, and a majority of the local County Parties.
