In this 611th episode of 'The Political Spotlight,' Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey covers a major story from Henry County, Indiana, and then, moving northward, he covers a big announcement made earlier in the day in his home city of Muncie, Indiana.

This episode is one you do not want to miss!

First up, the Henry County Sheriff's Department, under the PISS-POOR leadership of current Sheriff John M. Sproles, has put the County in a TOUGH SPOT with its insurance... YET AGAIN!

"The good news is (Henry County) will have insurance... the bad news is that (it) will feel like (the County) doesn't (have insurance)!"

It's safe to say that for the first portion of the show, we'll be under a #SprolesWatch! Be sure to help spread the word! Share the show with anyone who wants to know!

We then move on to the City of Muncie, and the weekly Board of Works meeting held earlier today (Wednesday, February 25, 2026). Of course, there were claims, which are always important; however, the BIG NEWS of the meeting was the announcement that this would be BOW member Linda Gregory's last meeting. She is stepping away from "public service" after 12 years as a Muncie City Councilor and six years on this board.

Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour did not announce his pick for her replacement; however, sources at City Hall have indicated that it would be local attorney Allen Wiseley, a young lap-dog Republican, who, like Democrat Gregory and the other two BOW members, will be a rubber stamp for Mayor Ridenour.

First, Bilbrey highlights the ongoing issues the City of Muncie faces with communication, transparency, and, flat out, just giving a shit!

Bilbrey attended the Muncie Park Board meeting this evening and became increasingly upset as a citizen addressed the board about feeling excluded by the Mayor and his team. Things only got worse when Parks Superintendent Carl Malone stood up and showed a complete lack of understanding of how a public servant should behave, clearly proving the citizens' point.

Because of that, Bilbrey had to step up to correct the record and share a few points.

Next, shifting to a few Madison County points of interest, Bilbrey welcomes contributing correspondent Dr. Katherine Callahan to discuss the Madison County Commissioners' "NO VOTE" on the effort to redraw voting precincts.

Then, Bilbrey and Callahan discuss the recent decision by Madison County Circuit Court Division 3 Judge Andrew Hopper, who ruled that Carl Roy Webb Boards II—the man charged with the shooting death of Elwood Police Officer Noah Shahnavaz—is not competent to stand trial.

Bilbrey examines the Prairie Creek Reservoir North Shore Camping fiasco more closely. It seems that Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour may have excluded more "stakeholders" than just his PCR employees, as he delivered the "bad news" to Muncie's residents. This is just another example of Ridenour's shortsighted, narrow-minded approach.

Then, Bilbrey shifts his focus to the national stage, where Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG), a U.S. representative from Georgia's 14th District, recently submitted her resignation letter. Was this the right choice for her, or the wrong one? What message is she sending with her resignation? Bilbrey breaks it all down!

And then, a recent comment by political commentator Megan Kelly about the victims of Jeffrey Epstein has drawn criticism from several people, including none other than "2008's Mother of the Year" winner, Casey Marie Anthony. Was Kelly in the wrong? Does Anthony have a point, or should she crawl back into her hole and not come out again? Bilbrey presents both sides, and then he offers the only side that matters — HIS!

Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey discusses a tragic event that occurred in Delaware County, Indiana, around 3:40 a.m. today (Wednesday, November 12, 2025). Delaware County Sheriff's Department Corporal Blake Reynolds responded to a call about a motorist in need of assistance on Interstate 69, northbound from State Road 28. While Cpl. Reynolds was out of his vehicle helping a truck driver who had pulled over on the side of the road when a second semi, also headed north, lost control and collided with Cpl. Reynolds' patrol vehicle, the broken-down semi, and, sadly, Cpl. Reynolds himself.

First responders from all over the area rushed to the scene to help in any way possible. Two medical helicopters were dispatched, and every effort was made to save Cpl. Reynolds. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.

Bilbrey then provides some updated details about the Whitestown shooting investigation.

And finally, Bilbrey shares the dreadful news of Sharon McShurley's apparent return to Delaware County politics for the 2026 election cycle. #ThePoliticalSpotlight

The agenda has been released, and for the third consecutive month, the final resolution listed—now called "Resolution 19-25" (initially numbered 16-25 in September and 17-25 in October)—is what the Ridenour Administration has been attempting to jam through.

Who is sponsoring Resolution 19-25? None other than Muncie City Councilor Dale Basham. But, will anything come of the actions taken by Mayor Ridenour's Executive Assistant, Shareen Wagley, when she sent the resolution to the City Clerk's office to have it added to the October agenda with Councilor Dale Basham's signature, without his prior approval?

Staying on the topic of Henry County Law Enforcement for a moment, Bilbrey shares his thoughts on a video currently circulating about the Middletown and Knightstown Police Departments. The meeting begins at 645 p.m., and Muncie residents are encouraged to attend to voice their opinions on the proposed 2026 budget and Resolution 16-25. Resolution 16-25 initiates the process to build a second fire station, before the first one is completed. This second station, costing $11.5 million, raises concerns for Bilbrey and should do the same for others.

From there, Bilbrey covers two follow-up pieces.

The first relates to the "Till-Pond" project in Muncie.

The second involves the arrests made during a Town Hall meeting held in Warrick County by Indiana's Lt. Governor, Micah Beckwith, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

In this 516th episode of 'The Political Spotlight,' Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey discusses the proposed 2026 budget for the City of Muncie. This is the budget that Mayor Dan Ridenour and his Administration have submitted to the City Council for their review and possible passage.

The Council, which was previously under Democratic control (6 to 3), is now controlled by the Republicans (5 to 4) due to Councilors Brandon Garrett and Jerry Dishman both switching parties from Democratic to Republican in July and August 2025.

Bilbrey reviews the proposed budget and shares his thoughts on what he expects to happen during the subsequent four Finance Committee meetings and two City Council meetings.

In keeping with the episode's theme — the proposed 2026 budget, taxpayer money, and meetings — Bilbrey highlights an interesting find on the agenda for the upcoming September 8, 2025, City Council meeting. Bilbrey examines Resolution 16-25, a resolution promoted by the Ridenour Administration. Bilbrey believes the resolution is out of line and should NOT be passed at this time. In this 513Th episode of 'The Political Spotlight,' Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey reviews Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour's press conference held earlier today (Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 3 p.m.) on the steps of City Hall in Muncie, Indiana.

The point of the presser was for the Mayor to unveil his proposed budget for the 2026 year. This draft will then be presented to the City Council, which will hold Finance Committee meetings to review the budget line by line, one department at a time.

The proposed budget will then need to be presented to the full Council for a vote on introduction. If approved, it will require a second vote in a subsequent Council meeting before November 1, 2025.

Bilbrey shares his thoughts on today's press conference and the city's budget process as a whole. This is one of the most critical aspects of local government.

In this 507th episode of 'The Political Spotlight,' Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey examines the ongoing "Public Disservice" being forced upon us.

First, Bilbrey talks about Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour's admission that there will be no progress on Southway Plaza. It has only taken him three and a half years to admit what the public has known for almost the entire time. What does this mean for Muncie and the southside? Should citizens ignore this and move on?

Next, Bilbrey recaps today’s (Thursday, August 14, 2025) "Unsafe Building Hearing Authority" meeting. Unsurprisingly, Mayor Ridenour did not apologize for his controversial comments from last month, and they conducted business as if everything was normal!

That leads Bilbrey to discuss the overall behavior of elected and appointed officials from different governments. There seems to be a concerning trend where officials are not providing public service to their citizens; instead, they are engaging in what Bilbrey calls: "Public Disservice!"

The message to citizens seems to be: “You get what you get, and you aren't allowed to throw a fit. We don’t want to hear from you — so deal with it!”

Bilbrey considers the implications of this attitude and reflects on the question... Do we accept it, or do we fight to change it?
