In the 702nd episode of The Political Spotlight, Bilbrey covers key developments from the Muncie Board of Works meeting, including the latest appointment to the board.

Next, Bilbrey reviews the Mayor's first community update, which includes additional commentary on the veto of Ordinance 13-26. Bilbrey offers further thoughts on the issue.

Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey attended the Muncie Board of Works meeting on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, where he raised procedural concerns about the Professional Services Contract and the first and second addenda to the contracts between the City of Muncie, under Mayor Dan Ridenour, and George-Jeffrey Howe.

As expected, the Board of Works members offered no response.

Newsman and author Rick Yencer then asked: "How much is Howe getting paid?" Once again, no answer was provided. Howe was not in attendance, and the meeting concluded just 10 minutes and 5 seconds after it began.

Combined with statements by Muncie City Councilor Sara Gullion during Monday's Muncie City Council meeting, today's Board of Works meeting raises even more questions about transparency and accountability within the Ridenour Administration.

Howe-ever (see what we did there), questions remain about the current "Acting" Mayor George-Jeffrey Howe, the recently appointed "Deputy" Mayor, and the still-acting Director of the Muncie Redevelopment Commission.

Will the Board of Works say or do anything?

Will the City Council?

Who knows? Only time will tell!

What about the Public Services Committee meeting the City Council should hold soon?

Where does everything stand on Resolution 8-26?

It's time the Muncie City Council gets busy!

Bilbrey then discusses the upcoming Indiana Republican Party convention (Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, 2026). Delegates will decide who advances as the party's candidate for Indiana's Secretary of State.

Will it be embattled incumbent Diego Morales, who has been having some pretty major meltdowns at public events lately?

Or will it be the establishment's new wonder boy, Max Engling... or the current Knox County Clerk and county GOP chairman, David Shelton... or the bizarre businesswoman and former gubernatorial candidate, Jamie Reitenour?

Approximately 1,800 Republican delegates elected in the May 2026 primary will decide, and Bilbrey is sure it will be a WILD RIDE! Time will tell!

Delaware County Republican Party Chairman Tim Overton tells anyone he considers an "outsider" in or around the party that they need to work on "building bridges" and be less "standoffish!"

Yet when Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey attempts to communicate with Overton about being appointed to one of Delaware County's open delegate seats, Bilbrey doesn't get very far and feels shut out and unheard.

This leaves Bilbrey wondering whether it's Overton who needs to build those bridges! Overton acts less like a bridge builder or a leader and more like a "Gatekeeper!"

In this 611th episode of 'The Political Spotlight,' Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey covers a major story from Henry County, Indiana, and then, moving northward, he covers a big announcement made earlier in the day in his home city of Muncie, Indiana.

This episode is one you do not want to miss!

First up, the Henry County Sheriff's Department, under the PISS-POOR leadership of current Sheriff John M. Sproles, has put the County in a TOUGH SPOT with its insurance... YET AGAIN!

"The good news is (Henry County) will have insurance... the bad news is that (it) will feel like (the County) doesn't (have insurance)!"

We then move on to the City of Muncie, and the weekly Board of Works meeting held earlier today (Wednesday, February 25, 2026). Of course, there were claims, which are always important; however, the BIG NEWS of the meeting was the announcement that this would be BOW member Linda Gregory's last meeting. She is stepping away from "public service" after 12 years as a Muncie City Councilor and six years on this board.

Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour did not announce his pick for her replacement; however, sources at City Hall have indicated that it would be local attorney Allen Wiseley, a young lap-dog Republican, who, like Democrat Gregory and the other two BOW members, will be a rubber stamp for Mayor Ridenour.
