Finally! Four and a half years in (one full term and a half year into term two), and Muncie, Indiana, Mayor Dan Ridenour might FINALLY be ready to start improving communication in Muncie!
\n\nCitizens of Muncie received "BREAKING NEWS" out of City Hall Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, as a Press Release dropped stating that the Ridenour Administration's 5th Communications Director, Michele Owen, was leaving that position as of Friday, August 9th.
\n\nRumors started to fly that the Mayor had picked a replacement quickly - a local politician named Amber Greene. (Greene happens to be a friend of Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey's.)
\n\nBilbrey quickly went into overdrive, and while he could not get in touch with Greene first thing today (Wednesday, August 7th), he did hear from sources at Muncie City Hall. They confirmed that she was in the building, and it looked like the rumors were correct!
\n\nA second Press Release on the matter was released today (Wednesday), stating that Greene had been tapped as the sixth Communications Director!
\n\nGreene has been an up-and-coming "conservative" republican voice within the City of Muncie and Delaware County. She currently serves as a member of the Delaware County Redevelopment Commission and has run for Delaware County Council twice, coming up short of victory in both races.
\n\nBeyond politics, Greene is a married mother of three. She has worked in sales and consulting and is a small business entrepreneur.
\n\nMayor Ridenour stated, “Amber's strong communication and relationship-building skills will be a great asset to the City of Muncie. I am excited to bring her on board.”
\n\nGreene was sworn in on Wednesday morning and will assume duties immediately.
\n\nWill this be good for the citizens and the City of Muncie? Bilbrey thinks it is a step in the right direction... he goes into further detail in this episode!

Today, Monday, August 5th, 2024, has been one hell of a day!
\n\nSince it was the first Monday of the month, several government meetings took place, including the Delaware & Randolph County Commissioners Meetings (both at 9 a.m.), the Winchester City Council Meeting (at 6 p.m.), and the Muncie City Council Meeting (at 645 p.m.).
\n\nAlso, the Madison County Election Board held a 'Special Meeting' (at 10 a.m.). The Clerk's Office had posted a notice on Thursday, August 1st, 2024. The meeting was to determine the outcome of the Complaint filed by citizen and voter Rob Jozwiak against Republican Party Chairman & Election Board President Russ Willis.
\n\nAnd then, as if all that wasn't enough, District 33 State Representative JD Prescott appeared on the 'Kendall & Casey Show' on wibc 93.1FM to outline "his - PLAN B" Property Tax Reform Plan... which, at least in the minds of The Political Spotlight team should be raising some serious questions!
\n\nSo, to keep all that straight and to keep Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey on track, the team has called in reinforcements!

The prevalence of subpar governance is a matter of concern. It is evident at all levels, from local to state to national, in every community, big or small. It is truly a pandemic!

\n\nBilbrey covers the 'Muncie Redevelopment Commission' meeting (in PART 1) and the "Dream with Dan" community update (in PART 2), both of which were held on Thursday, July 18th, 2024.
\n\nThe Redevelopment Commission meeting provided a fascinating insight into various projects underway in the city — until the MRC Board President, Isaac Miller, started being a rude, condescending jerk to other city and governmental officials and citizens alike. It's easy to see why he fits in with the Ridenour Administration.
\n\nMayor Dan then held one of his community updates, which he calls "Dream with Dan." They used to be held monthly, but there hasn't been one since December 2023 (seven months ago). However, the delay ended on Thursday, July 18th, 2024, because he finally held a "Dream with Dan" with most of his Department Heads sitting with him. The only question is, did he or they answer any real questions and update the citizens on what is, has been, and will be... happening in Muncie?

Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey woke up early today. He was in a good mood and was ready to take the day on and face whatever might come! But then the City of Muncie did everything it could to SUCK THE JOY AND HAPPINESS OUT OF HIS LIFE!
\n\nThe Muncie Board of Works meeting lasted less than three minutes, during which they approved over 1.6 million dollars in claims in a minute and 13 seconds - with no questions about any claims and without going over what ANY OF THAT MONEY WENT TO! The meeting was NOT live-streamed as it typically is, and comments were not allowed in the manner they have been in the past!
\n\nAnd after seeing various "cheerleaders" (or "Dan'atics") were out in force trying to kiss Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour's ass every which way they could!
\n\nAFTER ALL OF THAT... Bilbrey was no longer in a good mood!
\n\nHe fired off a long email to the Mayor and the Council, expecting answers but knowing they would more than likely not come!
\n\nIt was all downhill from there, and that is what he covers in this episode! It all leads Bilbrey to the statement: "Muncie is an Idiot!"
